Welcome to Flipt! As most of you are aware, the mission of Flipside is to “turn the world upside down for Jesus Christ, one life at a time.” In Flipt, we hope to create the next generation of Flipsidians who will also turn their world upside down. Our mission is to partner with parents in “developing children of influence”. Raising a child to become a whole-hearted Christ follower is no easy task. We hope that we can provide encouragement and support to you as you disciple and teach your children. To that end, we have three values in Flipt that we adhere to every week.

We believe in providing a consistent environment. This means that we strive to find dedicated leaders willing to serve weekly to provide familiar faces to the children. We stick to a similar schedule every week so that children will know what to expect. We seek to provide an environment where each child feels safe and comfortable.

We also seek to develop authentic relationships with the children. Our Flipt leaders are encouraged to get to know the children that they serve each week and to share their own lives with the children as well. We want the children to feel free to ask questions and seek answers. We want them to develop relationships and receive encouragement from other children their own age.

Finally, we wish to encourage the children to refine their character. Each month in Flipt we focus on a different character quality that a follower of Jesus should exhibit. We study Bible heroes who exemplified these qualities, we play games that illustrate why these qualities are so important, and we have discussions about how these qualities are used in everyday life. Most importantly we encourage kids to live daily with Jesus at the center of their lives.

We are excited to partner with you, the parent, in developing children of influence and turning this world upside down for Jesus Christ, one life at a time.

Where does Baby Dedications come from? As a child, Jesus was brought by Joseph and Mary to the Jewish temple to be dedicated to God. This was an act of recognition that He really belonged to God.

Your Commitment: Parents are publicly making a commitment to nurture and raise their child in the love and truth of God.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NIV).

•Fathers have a specific commandment: Fathers, do not exasperate* your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4) *exasperate: ‘to irritate or annoy to an extreme degree’

Flipside’s Commitment to You: The Flipside family is committing to partner with parents to provide tools, resources and accountability in raising there child in a godly and biblical way.
