High School Ministry
High School Ministries
Designed for High School Students (9th -12th grades) to fuel their passion for Jesus Christ and to live out their faith in every aspect of their lives. Partnering with mature adult disciples; we use Biblical teaching, worship, activities, games, events, camps, and missions to build community and to deepen/mobilize faith.
What to expect Sunday’s
Flipside encourages all High School students to participate with adults Sunday Morning. As students mobilize into a faith that is authentically theirs they will be brought into the broader Flipside family as we worship together.
What to Expect Wednesdays
Wednesday Nights is the most important time for our Student Ministries. It is our goal to create a community of students and adults committed to growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Wednesday night program is from 6:30 – 8:30pm. There is a snack bar available before we start. Each night will consist of a game, worship, a topical lesson, and then time in gender and grade based growth groups.
Gender and grade specific growth groups are the focus of our ministry. This is where students will grow in Christ as they participate in a community designed to last not only their time in the ministry but also in life. Each group is led by men and women of the Flipside community so it can be a safe place for students to grow in their faith together.
Our teaching Wednesday nights are biblically inspired topical lessons delivered in a relevant and applicable style. Each lesson is aimed at the transformation only Jesus Christ can bring through His Living Word.
We believe every student deserves an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best of who God has called them to be. These adults are background checked and trained so that your student is safely mentored and shown Jesus Christ.
Event’s for High School Ministry are all designed to strengthen community by bringing adult leaders alongside students to encounter God. This is done through monthly events that include everything from dodgeball to service opportunities, to camp, and missions. We believe that it is in community that students are able to strengthen their faith and each Event is a fantastic opportunity for Students to get plugged in.
Flipside partners with Forest Home for our annual summer and winter camps. Flipside is passionate about the importance of camp on the spiritual development of our students. Camp provides a unique experience where students can get away and into the mountains to have fun and encounter Jesus. We want every student should go to camp.
Missions is an awesome opportunity for Students to stretch their faith and grow together through service.
- Each year HSM will do an annual trip down to Baja Mexico to serve at the Door of Faith Orphanage.
- We will also begin partnering with C.S.M. (Center for Student Missions) to begin doing an annual inner city mission trip to Los Angeles.

We think every student deserves an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists students become the best of who God has called them to be. This happens when mature adult believers of Jesus Christ give consistent time and energy to students. This can be as involved as mentoring students as a Growth Group Leader, serving in the snack bar, setting up for our weekly gatherings, or volunteering at any of our multiple events.
We have found that God works through these adults to change the lives of students by bringing them into relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you would like to be a part of our team who consistently shows up, invests in students, and models Jesus Christ to students please fill out interest form below.
In High School Ministry we understand that though we can make a large impact in a student’s life; you as a parent have the most influence. You will spend exponentially more time with each of your students than we will. Because of this we see our role as coming alongside you as parents in the faith development of your student. We can start conversations, provide resources, training, and counseling alongside you. To do this best, please let us know where you, your family, and your students are; we’d love to talk.
Weekly At Home Tool
Use this tool as a conversation starter and to dig deeper into what your student is learning Wednesday nights. There is a chance for both parents and students to ask questions. Be open and share your heart with your student(s).
Making a commitment to Jesus and saying yes to His love is the most significant choice a person can make. We know that God designed us to be in relationship with him and when we say yes, He influences every part of our lives. We are constantly growing in our faith journey with Him, and we refer to this lifelong growth as “faithing.” The graphic of concentric circles can help understanding the aspects of God’s love and the beliefs and choices we can make as we say yes to His love. Identifying with each one of these statements marks a faith milestone. If someone in your family is interested in making a public commitment of faith by being baptized we encourage you to talk with one of our staff or volunteer leaders. Likewise, if you would like to talk more about any of the statements of faith on the graphic or have any questions, we would love to talk further.
As we continue to make space for the truth of our God to take root in our lives this Lent season, our Family Ministry team encourages you to spend time on the journey as a family. We’ve attached some activities and articles from our staff, and partners at Orange for you to engage your children at every phase of development. If at any point this season you have questions in guiding your children through Lent please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff.
